Finding theological language in the gas well era

May 16, 2010 - 10:15am

This service explore the basics of systematic theology that aims to arrange religious truths in a self-consistent whole and reflect upon whether religious truths: our relationship to the ultimate, our concept of what shelters us, our view of the other and of what holds us together, are tools that help us interpret the challenges that face our world.

Using a house as a metaphor, we will wonder out loud the role of Unitarian Universalist values within a largely secular world and examine the real time example of gas drilling through this emergent theological lens. With a complement of readings, stories and songs, the service promises to be largely upbeat and thought-provoking.
